Yes, this is real wood! Each is made in the USA from sequential sheets of veneer hand-selected for outstanding character and figure. These veneers are permanently bonded to a resin-saturated paper backing which allows maximum flexibility. Each sheet then goes through a multi-step sanding process for a perfect finish. High-end veneers like these are great for heirloom furniture, cabinetry, stereo speakers, and automotive dashboards.
Limited Quantities
Due to high demand, our stock is limited but we are working to offer more in the coming weeks. Please contact us to place a special order if you need more sheets than we have available here.

Adhesive & Tool Suggestions
These are premium veneer sheets with an outstanding grain and exceptional color. The grade offered here typically falls between an AA and a true architectural-spec veneer. This is a product of nature so there will be variation in color and grain pattern from what is shown in the sample picture.
What is a "plank matched" veneer?
There are some woodworking projects where the repetitive matching of sequential veneers laid side by side can look a little too artificial for some projects. Plank-matched sheets are made from several different flitches of veneer so that each sheet looks more like solid lumber. Each veneer within the sheet is different in size and grain pattern.

Review by Steve Galbraith
Rating:
I bought this veneer to use on a small 12" cube sealed subwoofer enclosure to match some bookshelf speakers I also covered with walnut veneer. I did not have enough of the original veneer I used so I needed to purchase more but didn't need a full 4'x8' sheet. This 2'x8' sheet fit the bill perfectly with lots to spare.
The veneer is of really great quality and has a great look to it. The original paper backed veneer I used had a fairly light colored paper backing (also bought from this site a few years back). This veneer has a much darker paper backing which better matches the walnut. I applied this veneer using the glue-on method and didn't have any issues. Four corners of the cabinet were rounded over with a 1" round-over bit and the veneer was applied cross-grain to the rounded edges which goes a bit against conventional wisdom, but I didn't have any issues. I did pre-apply some veneer softener to the sections of the veneer that covered the rounded edges to give it a bit more pliability.
I haven't worked that much with veneer but all that I have worked with I have ordered from Joe on this site. He's always super helpful and very willing to answer any questions and steer you in the right direction.
