US Fish and Wildlife

The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) works with more than 180 countries to protect rare species of trees from illegal harvesting. Each country has a government agency that helps enforce the rules and guidelines set forth by CITES. In the US, that agency is the Fish and Wildlife portion of the Department of the Interior. This department works inconjunction with CITES to regulate the import and export of endangered species in and out of the USA.

In observance of the laws set forth by our government, our website has special coding that will halt the checkout process if a restricted species is being shipped out of the US.

To comply with regulations, we will not ship the following species (veneer and edgebanding) out of the USA.

  • Bolivian Rosewood* (Santos Rosewood, Pau Ferro)
  • Brazilian Rosewood
  • Bubinga
  • Chinese Fir
  • Cocobolo
  • East Indian Rosewood
  • Ebony (Gabon)
  • Honduran Rosewood
  • Jatoba
  • Louro Preto
  • Mahogany
  • Sapele
  • Satinwood
  • Spanish Cedar
  • Tamo Ash (including Japanese Sen)

* There is much confusion over the CITES restrictions on Bolivian Rosewood. We do not believe it is subject to strict export control but our customers are finding huge challenges upon import, and because of this we no longer ship this species out of the country.

Additional Product Limitations

Australia and New Zealand
We cannot ship any of our 4 to 6 foot wide vacuum bags or our 48" wide breather mesh to Australia or New Zealand because of post office limitations. If you are ordering one of these size-restricted products, you must select FedEx as the shipping carrier on the checkout page.

All Other Countries
We can only ship our 4x8 paper-backed veneers to the US and Canada.
