Product Review Examples
Use this information to help ensure that your review gets displayed on our website.

Sharing your experience with our products helps the entire woodworking community find the right tools for their craft. Whether it's a glowing recommendation or a critical look at a product, I want to ensure every perspective reaches our customers.

To help your review go live without a hitch, I put together a few examples of what to avoid. The comments in the list are made up, but they highlight what is important. Sometimes great insights get sidelined simply because they don't align with our posting guidelines, and I'd hate for your review to be missed.

Your compliments and constructive criticisms are helpful to me as well. If there's ever anything about your order that you're not happy with, please don't hesitate to reach out and let me know. I'll be happy to personally work with you to make things right as quickly as possible.

"The edge banding trimmer did not cut the quarter-inch thick wood that I applied to my project."

The website product description explains that the trimmer is only suitable for edge banding up to 1/28" thickness. It would not be helpful for anyone to read a review that is based on using the wrong tool for the job.

We do not post reviews that include the name of competing products or suppliers.

We do not post reviews that contain offensive words.

This review confuses readers and because of this, it would be not be posted on our site.

"Instead of following the instructions that came with the product, I used a method I found on YouTube."

The instructions included on or with the product should be followed at all times. We can not be responsible for instructions provided by other sources and will not post a review that refers to contrary instructions.

"I purchased the same product at Brass Fittings Galore, and it was not very good quality."

Though this person may be a customer from our website, the product being reviewed was purchased elsewhere and so it would not be allowed.

"The veneer I bought was very thin. I was expecting it to be thick like cardboard."

The product description lists many details about the veneer, including its thickness. It is not helpful to a reader if a review-writer overlooked an important aspect of the product.

"I bought this product last week. Then I misplaced it on my workbench. But then I found it and used it on my project. I made a jewelry box for my sister."

This review simply isn't helpful to anyone. The reviewer could mention many things about the product, but only wrote about something that is irrelevant.

"I was a little disappointed by the results achieved. I chose this product over spray contact cement because I thought I would be able to slide the 3' x 6' copper sheet around easily to its final position before applying the final weights during setting but there was too much stickiness of the glue grabbing the copper so that was difficult to do. After finally getting things lined up I applied uniform pressure to the top cover sheet of plywood but when I removed all the weight the next morning I found several areas where there was no adhesion of the copper to the plywood substrate. So now I have some "bubbles" in the back splash behind my cook top. I wish I had used spray adhesive. And used separator sheets of some sort like in the old days when I did Formica work. I did work quickly and applied what I believed to be plenty of the TC-20 adhesive." - Ed Horstman

"This is a great veneer tape dispenser. I bought it for a project I was doing with some 1/16" veneer and it didn't let me down. It is not quite as nice as some of the more expensive dispensers you can buy, but at less than half the cost it's the right move unless you are veneering on a very regular basis. I tried veneering in the past without a dispenser but found it to be a waste of time." - Jacob Tetri

"The kit came with all the parts needed including a pump and most importantly, an excellent set of instructions. Construction was well documented and broken into very doable steps. Only minor mistakes, all my fault of course, were made but none that mattered in the end. Instructions clearly warn of major pitfalls to be avoided. I especially appreciate the CNC manufactured wooden carrier, which was well-designed and came together very well. I decided to varnish all the wooden parts after assembling the frame to help keep it clean in the future. In the end, I am extremely pleased with the quality and function of this vacuum system and hope to use it soon on several projects currently waiting in my shop." - Michael Olken
