I searched the half the world (ok, maybe a little less) and finally found an affordable heavy duty valve unit with 1/4" NPT threads (male to female) that works perfect with our vacuum press kits. In fact, this is the vacuum valve we include with every vacuum press kit on our website.

This valve has an open-closed handle configuration with a 90 degree swing. The handle is even marked to show the open and closed position.
