TransTints are highly concentrated, metal-complex liquid dyes used in woodworking and finishing to color wood. They can also be used to tone and tint clear finishes such as shellac, lacquer, and water-based polyurethane. Simply mix with water or with alcohol for deep penetration. All TransTint dyes are intermixable with each other, so custom colors can be easily created.
These dyes are more lightfast when compared to conventional aniline powdered type dye stains. This unique concentrated formulation allows the user great latitude in using the dye because it is compatible with such a wide variety of finishing products. No waiting or straining is necessary because the dye compound is pre-dissolved!
Please note that the Transtint bottle style may vary.

Trans Tint is my go-to dye. Easy to use and easy to customize by dilution or mixing. I mix them in alcohol so the wood grain doesn't raise. Just be careful if using an alcohol based finish. They dry very quickly in alcohol, so you can build up layers quickly and get the job done.

This was my first time using this product, and the first time buying from Joe at Veneer Supplies.com- The product came swiftly, and the ENTIRE experience buying from Joe was excellent. Bottom line, I will be looking here first next time I need any of this type of supplies. Thanks Joe!

Nice and dark, and rich in color. I no longer have to buy expensive exotic woods to get the look I want.

I add it to either lacquer thinner or denatured alcohol before I apply it to my electric bass bodies or necks. Very consistent coloration. It is the only dye I use. I am now on my 3rd color of TransTint. Joe at Veneer Supplies offers a great price and fast shipping. Certainly where I am going to buy my next color.
