TransTints are highly concentrated, metal-complex liquid dyes used in woodworking and finishing to color wood. They can also be used to tone and tint clear finishes such as shellac, lacquer, and water-based polyurethane. Simply mix with water or with alcohol for deep penetration. All TransTint dyes are intermixable with each other, so custom colors can be easily created.
These dyes are more lightfast when compared to conventional aniline powdered type dye stains. This unique concentrated formulation allows the user great latitude in using the dye because it is compatible with such a wide variety of finishing products. No waiting or straining is necessary because the dye compound is pre-dissolved!
Please note that the Transtint bottle style may vary.

I mixed 50/50 water and alcohol, added retarder, and it worked great. Able to do large sections with no streaking, lots of drying time. Veneer Supplies has a great help-how to section, gave me the confidence to try it. Thanks.

Transtint dyes are very easy to mix and apply. I have used this tint on curly maple and oak with excellent results. I've gone through two bottles of this dye just becasue the customers insist on this color with the pieces that I've made with curly maple. Excellent product.
