Several vacuum press builders have asked me to add a pipe tap to the catalog of parts needed for the kits I offer. They are the best pipe taps I could find for the money. These taps have the correct thread configuration for the brass fittings sold on our website. They easily create threads in the PVC caps on the vacuum press kits and vacuum clamping jigs.

    Worked perfectly to tap holes in PVC for the EVS project and in acrylic for the clear top of a wood stabilizing chamber. Just be aware that if you tap too deeply, the hole could end up too large (since NPT is tapered) and require that you thread the fitting in deeper than desired/possible.
