Several vacuum press builders have asked me to add a pipe tap to the catalog of parts needed for the kits I offer. This is the best pipe tap I could find for the money. I figured that since it's going into plastic and it only will be used a few times in making the system, it would be pointless to buy an expensive one.

These are the taps with the correct thread configuration for the brass fittings sold on my website. It is used to easily create threads in the PVC caps on the vacuum press kits and vacuum clamping jigs.

    Worked perfectly to tap holes in PVC for the EVS project and in acrylic for the clear top of a wood stabilizing chamber. Just be aware that if you tap too deeply, the hole could end up too large (since NPT is tapered) and require that you thread the fitting in deeper than desired/possible.
