Current Freeze Protection Status: SUSPENDED (see status explanations below)

Some Better Bond™ adhesives are not freeze-thaw stable. The glue will become unusable if it freezes in transit or on your door step.

pg-freeze-protect.jpgKeep in mind that the temperature at your location may be very different from the temperature here in Maryland, where your order will be traveling in a shipper's unheated truck. And no matter where you live, your adhesive order may have to travel through states that have below-freezing temperatures.

Here is the list of adhesives which can not be allowed to freeze.

  • Heat Lock™
  • Titan DX™
  • Flex-Pro™
  • TC-20™

We have developed a system using 72-hour jumbo package warmers to reduce the possibility of product damage. In some cases, we may opt to use styrofoam peanuts along with the package warmers. This protection increases the price of the product, but we offer it as a service to our customers instead of simply ceasing the shipment of these adhesives throughout the entire winter season.

The pricing for freeze protection ranges from $5 to $9 depending on the size of the adhesive you select. We use more package warmers on gallons than on pints and quarts.

This package warming solution works well when temperatures remain above 22° F. Take a look at a weather website using your zip code and ours (21050) to see the local temperatures when ordering to decide if you would like freeze protection on your adhesive shipment.

The warming packs are far less effective when temperature drops below 22° F. We may delay shipping your entire order until the temperatures between our location and yours rise above that which our freeze protection method can withstand.

Please note that the package warmers may be cold upon arrival. They are used to create warmth in the glue during transit, and they stop working after 72 hours. However, by that time they have warmed the glue enough to prevent freezing for many hours after.

Freeze Protection Status

Optional - When active, this status indicates that you can choose the freeze protection option. However, if the product freezes in transit or at your door step, and you did not select the freeze protection option on your order, then we will not replace or refund the adhesive or shipping cost.

Mandatory - The status means that freeze protection is required. We do this when our local or regional temperatures are below 32° F. This typically only occurs during January, February, and March. We make freeze protection "optional" when our regional temperatures are above freezing for five consecutive days.

Delayed - When this status is in use, freeze protection is mandatory and we will likely have to delay shipping of your order for up to 72 hours to get through a short spell of extremely cold temperatures.

Suspended - This means the regional temperatures are colder than our package warming solution can handle, and so we are currently not accepting orders for any adhesives that require freeze protection.
