Yes, this is real wood! Each is made in the USA from sequential sheets of veneer hand-selected for outstanding character and figure. These veneers are permanently bonded to a resin-saturated paper backing which allows maximum flexibility. Each sheet then goes through a multi-step sanding process to make the veneer sheet perfect. High-end veneers like these are great for heirloom furniture, cabinetry, stereo speakers, and automotive dashboards.

Staining & Finishing
Since this paper-backed veneer is a real wood product, it can be stained/dyed easily and requires no special top-coats or finishes. Aniline dyes, oil and water based stains, Transtints, polyurethane, lacquer, conversion varnish, shellac, and tung oil are all compatible with our premium paper-backed veneers.

Matching Species Edge Banding
To help complete your panel, we offer a wide array of real wood edge banding to match many of our paper-backed veneers. These rolls are in stock and shipped same day if ordered before 12pm EST. Edge banding is very easy to apply and is offered in several sizes and types including pre-glued, non-glued, unfinished, and pre-finished.

Adhesive & Tool Suggestions

• We highly recommend Titan DX™ which will bond this veneer to plywood, MDF, and particle board.
• A scraper tool must be used to apply backed veneers with contact cement or Flex-Pro.
• Better Bond Heat Lock™ and Flex-Pro™ also work quite well.
• Better Bond X-Press™ veneer glue can also be used if a vacuum press is available.
• The excess veneer on a completed panel can be trimmed with a razor blade or a veneer saw, but many users get the cleanest cut with a down-cutting spiral bit mounted in a hand-held router.

More Information

These are premium veneer sheets with an outstanding grain and exceptional color. The grade offered here typically falls between an AA and a true architectural-spec veneer. This is a product of nature so there will be variation in color and grain pattern from what is shown in the sample picture.

This veneer is African mahogany which is also known as khaya. Color can range from very light reddish-brown to medium reddish-brown.

Matching Sheets:	If available for this veneer, a matching option will be shown above the "add to cart" button. Select this option if you plan to order two or more sheets of this veneer and want one sheet to reasonably match the other in terms of color and grain. A matched "set" is generally limited to two or three sheets.
Transit Time:	These veneers are in stock and shipped from directly from our warehouse in Maryland. Transit time information can be found here.
Packaging:	All of our 4x8 premium veneers are rolled up and then packaged in a 200# test double-wall corrugated box to assure maximum protection. We do not know of any other supplier that uses such a robust box for their veneer shipments.
Shipping:	Order as much of this veneer as you wish and the shipping cost stays the same! No additional shipping costs will be charged for adding more of this veneer to your order. These veneers can not be shipped outside of the USA.
Return Policy:	Returns accepted within 30 days of receipt of shipment and are subject to a 15% restocking fee. The "matching" option is non-refundable.
