Bubble-quilt is a figure unique to maple. When a piece of this veneer is held vertically, there is a beautiful chatoyance and a grain pattern that resembles the movement of bubbles rising up through water. It has also been called "rain drop" figure because of its three-dimensional look. No matter what it's called, this veneer is absolutely gorgeous.
