It is our understanding that this veneer is called Gaboon or Gabon when it contains the wild figure you see in the images below. When the tree yields a non-figured veneer it is typically referred to as okoume which is used to make plywood. This species is a key economic export from the country of Gabon where it is also used as solid lumber.
