Think of this as a hybrid of Koa and Mahogany. That is the character and color you'll find in these etimoe wood veneer sheets. Etimoe veneer is getting hard to find again... we saw this a few years ago. This species is easy to work with and the figuring can be mesmerizing. Etimoe is one veneer that doesn't show its true character until a top coat is applied. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Etimoe is just one step away from being classified as endangered. Since 1998, steps have been taken to reduce logging and increase planting of this species in many parts of Africa. Luckily, Etimoe numbers are on the rise according to a 2008 study of rain forest woods. This is largely due to a rise in the prices of this species in the timber trade. |
