This brand new industrial duty vacuum pump by Gast is perfect for large vacuum bags and bending/laminating veneer over odd shaped forms. These are also superb for vacuum clamping bench work and vacuum chucking lathe pieces. I bought a huge pallet of these incredible pumps so I could offer the best possible price.

    I'm a corporate purchaser for a medical lab so I cant comment on this pump from the standpoint of vacuum pressing. However I can say that this is by far the cheapest place to buy this model. Our previous suppliers' price was $399 and that was for the exact same model.

    I didnt buy my pump here because my sister works for a local Gast distributor and said she could get the same pump for me at her cost. I figured it had to be cheaper than the price here.

    Wrong! She brought it to my shop and left the invoice for it on my desk. The charge was $337.35! At first, I thought it was the wrong pump but not so. Her cost was more than the price here. I dont know how that is possible. Nonetheless this is a good pump at a price that is incredible. Grainger sells a very similar pump for $579.

    I had contact with Joe in advance of writing this review and his reply said that he sells the pumps cheap because he knows how hard it is to get a good price on one for vacuum pressing. His business 'spirit' is as good as his business 'model'.

    No worries here at all. I bough this pump from Joe last year and its been used at least 15 hours per week with not a single issue. There is a very high build quality here.

    I can hardly believe how nicely this pump works. For the money, you can't beat it. I checked several sources in fact, dozens of places online, for the best price on a 5 CFM pump. Nobody cam clse to Joe's price. The pump runs smoooooooooooth and its extremly fast pulling vacuum. Overall, I couldnt be happier.

    This is a really great pump. It runs cool and quiet and moves plenty of air. I bought it with the builders kit and had a serious vacuum press up and running by the end of the day. I built a 4' x 8' vacuum bag to veneer a large desk top. This pump pulled down the bag in less than a minute. Overall I'm very happy with this pump and the system. Joe had it shipped out the same day I ordered it and it arrived well packed and ready to run.
