These ball valves are used to create custom vacuum clamping jigs on CNC routers and workbench hold-downs. Each unit consists of a chromium ball bearing, tapered return spring, cir-clip and 13mm outside diameter housing body. The return spring holds the ball bearing up flush against the tapered breach in the neck of the housing. This represents the 'closed' position of the valve. By applying downward pressure to ball bearing, the valve is opened and vacuum pressure is applied to the work piece.

Because these valve do not create a perfect "closed" seal, we recommend them for use with vacuum clamping jigs attached to continuous-run vacuum systems only. We do not recommend these for auto-cycling vacuum presses unless you convert the vacuum press system to run continuously.
