Dura-Max Extreme™ is the ultimate vacuum bag. Each bag is made from an extra-thick (30 mil) polyurethane material that has been designed for VeneerSupplies.com using an advanced thermoplastic capable of withstanding pressures exceeding 3,750+ psi and stretching more than 6 times its width and length*. Dura-Max Extreme vacuum bags offer superior resilience and unmatched puncture resistance. Made in the USA.
Each bag is welded with a state-of-the-art custom RF welding machine operating at 7,000 watts and 50 lb/in of pressure. This exact combination of frequency and clamp strength yields the most durable and airtight end-seam available. Each bag then undergoes a series of inspections including a final check that I do prior to shipment.
*Elongation and breaking strength based on ASTMD 412 test method.
Features
New Flush-Mount Valve Stem - The Extreme vacuum bag also includes our new flush-mount valve stem assembly that allows you to use the full length of the vacuum bag without worry of project surface damage. A specially designed 2.5" diameter 50 mil flange is molded onto the polyurethane valve body and is permanently welded onto each bag. This creates an 80 mil total thickness reinforcement area for maximum durability.

I am building cabinets. I use this bag 30 or 40 times a week. It has held up great over the past 6 months. The only complaint is I should have got a bigger one ;)

You got to admit that this is a great price for a 30 mil polyurethane vacuum bag. I've seen them online for more than $400 for the same size. Joe sent me the bag a few weeks ago and I've been using it for veneering antique piano legs which have a fairly complex shape. The bag has held up perfectly and so far, so good - the legs have all turned out nicely.
The only issue I've found is that it takes a bit of muscle to get the closure attached. Joe mentioned that this would ease up over time and honestly, I'd rather it be tight than loose anyhow. Otherwise, this bag is a real workhorse and for the price, its probably one of the best purchases that I've made for my shop.

Joe shipped this bag to me a few weeks ago after we had sent several emails to each other discussing which bag was right for my projects. I do a lot of epoxy resin work for boats and I needed a durable vacuum bag that could take anything I threw at it. Each time I sent an email, I got a quick reply. Joe really extolled the values of this bag. We both agreed that for my type of use, this heavy duty version (called Extreme) of the Elite bag style series was best.
I've been using my bag a lot this week and thought it would be a good time to write a review as my way of saying thanks to Joe for all of the help. So far, I've completed 40 curved fiberglass shelves, 20 doors, and at least 100 angle brackets in my bag (using a salvaged vacuum pump). Despite the mess I've made, the bag still looks new and shows not a hint of failure. For the money, I dont think there is a better vacuum bag available.
