John Keeling - I have to say I was still sceptical when I decided to have a go at building my own vacuum system... but the plans worked out real well, the kit saved me a lot of shopping time and some $ from what I saw of big box stores prices. I built the EVS with a 5 cfm pump [overkill since I only use a 6'x4' bag...], would use a 3cfm pump next time. Construction was easy, instructions were clear, it has seen 15+ vacuum layups of 8+ hours each already and I am very happy with the performance. Would recommend to anyone! Well done Joe! And their veneer sales are great too, quick and easy to deal with!
nate graham - Thank you so much for the concise directions. They were very well put together thus making my vacuum press the same. The 3-4 hours of construction time was dead on, even with the inevitable run to the hardware store. In short my press is put together and it runs without leaks. I've been operating this for 2 weeks now and I don't know how I veneered with out a press, it simplifies the process ten fold. If you're on the fence about spending the money I assure you its the way to go. In the past, panels would take 10 min of getting cauls and clamps ready, 10 min of tightening clamps and 2 hrs of "Boy I hope its clamped right". Now it takes: well i don't really know, its so fast and I don't worry if it worked, I'm to excited to see the result.
