Comments: Thanks for the veneers. I did try a local supplier's veneer but theirs were not as good as yours! This is for my kitchen and I have been working on it between jobs since last summer. Everything was built from scratch except for the counter top.

Stereo Speakers
Created by Pierre Collin
Veneer: AAA Quilted Cherry
Comments: I just finished a loudspeaker project using a cherry curly veneer from yours and the result is awesome! For pressing, only a bunch of 2 x 4 ft, one inch thick MDF boards and heavy things I had on hand. The most delicate part was to make sure the glue was evenly spread. Finish is with 4 layers of Danish oil.

Vacuum Pressed Gun Holster
Created by: Philip Bernie
Comments: I thought you may be interested to see some of these pix. The vacuum pump and bag works GREAT! These photos are all the same holster as it goes through the stages. Keep in mind before going into the vacuum bag its just a rounded piece of leather with no definition whatsoever. I put the nozzle right at the very butt of the gun so it sucks all the air out of the gun and holster. The holster was wet when it went in and came out just damp. The vacuum actually sucked a lot of the water out as it formed the holster around the gun.

Comments: Here are some pictures of a project I finished that used quilted Bubinga I purchased from you earlier this year. Veneer was attached using Better Bond Heat-Lock, treated with pure Tung oil and then finished in gloss oil based polyurathane. I am really happy about the end result.

Quilted Maple Guitar
Created by: David M. Simon
Veneer: Quilted Maple
Comments: I hand built from scratch a semi-hollow body Les Paul style guitar that I covered front and back with AAA Quilted Maple veneer from VeneerSupplies.com.  After all the wood work was completed I handed the guitar over to master automotive painter Kevin Campbell of Country Collision in South Chicago Heights, IL, who gave it an unbelievable transparent blue finish that really made the grain of the veneer pop.

Blanket Chest
Created by: Myanna Pontoppidan
Veneer: Birds Eye Maple
Comments: I and my friend Sandy Chaet made two identical blanket chests. The frame is Sapele wood, the outside veneer is birdseye maple, and the inside veneer is birch. We fell in love with veneering, especially with the high quality product from this website.

Spider Box
Created by Dave Wood
Veneer: Maple Burl
Comments: The "Spider Box" is constructed with sliding panels and a secret combination to open. There is also one hidden secret drawer. The framework and drawers are made from walnut. The interior is cherry and the panels are veneered with my favorite veneer set from VeneerSupplies.com, a combination of quilt and burl maple. The web on the top is a wenge inlay and the spider is a particularly bright piece of rosewood. The legs are made from wound guitar strings covered in several layers of flocking.

Lingerie Chests
Created by Timothy Dixon
Veneer: Walnut Burl
Comments: I work out of my unheated garage, and winter time in Minnesota is not conducive to my hobby. Our spring has been warm so I have finished what I started last fall. I got the plans from "Popular Woodworking" December 2006, issue # 159. I built one of the lingerie chests for my daughter for Christmas. I built the other lingerie chest to give to the International Order of Jobs Daughters, Bethel # 76 of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, to raffle off to raise money.  I changed the dimensions from the plans in "Popular Woodworking" so my daughter can look into the top drawer without standing on a step stool. The Chests are 56 1/2" tall, 23" deep, and 31 1/4" wide. The sides are black walnut plywood, the feet, trim, face frames, doors, and drawer fronts are solid black walnut. The walnut burl is from VeneerSupplies.com.

Rolls Royce Restoration
Created by: Howland Blackiston
Veneer: Walnut Burl
Comments: The beautiful burl veneer and the Honey Amber Transtint dye I purchased (from VeneerSupplies.com) allowed me to create a near-perfect match for the book-matched burl door panels I fabricated for my Rolls Royce. The dyes allowed me to “push” the veneer color in an “orange” direction that was needed to match Rolls Royce’s burlwood.

Antique Veneer Table
Created by: Al Mayo
Veneer: Elm Burl
Comments: First time veneering, turned out well. Have been a woodworker many years but always worked with solid.  We picked up this table for $15 at an estate sale. The original veneer was a four piece book match but most of one piece was gone and the rest were badly damaged. I played around with some designs before coming up with what you see.

Veneered Chest
Created by Joseph Butterweck (Kailua-Kona, Hawaii)
Veneer: Walnut, Koa, Wenge
Comments: On the first piece, the choice of curly and crotch veneers are an excellent complement to one another. The second chest appears to use curly koa and wenge veneers which really make this stand out.

Pool Table
Refinished by Brad Fallert (Bloomsdale, Missouri)
Veneer: Ribbon Stripe Mahogany 2-Ply Veneer
Comments: I bought the table for 500 dollars it was all painted black so I stripped all the old veneer off the legs and the sides and had no top rails made. Now it is worth between 15,000 to 18,000 according to a classic billiards expert.

Guitars
Created by David Schramm (Clovis, California)
Veneer: Assorted
Comments: The Schramm/Rodriguez model features the definitive elements of this Andalusian icon. The fret wire used is wider than tradition frets and is the same wire used by Sir Pepe Romero in his guitars. The neck is shaped using templates Mr.Schramm made from close study of Bill Kanengiser's 1977 Rodriguez guitar. The veneering is done with the Project: EVS vacuum press system.

Cedar Chest Restoration
Created by John Donofrio (Taylors, South Carolina)
Veneer: Paperbacked Mahogany
Comments: These are before and after shots of John's cedar chest. It is finished with 1 coat 1# cut blonde shellac (from flakes) to seal it. Then he stained it with antique cherry to attempt to color match the existing mahogany veneer at the edges on the front. He then applied 4 coats 2# cut shellac to the entire piece. The final layer is Johnson's paste wax applied with 0000 steel wool and then buffed out.

Created by Robert Manning (Los Angelos, California)
Veneer: Tamo Ash
Comments: Ocelot is a strip built 1/2 scale model built with yellow poplar strips, the Tamo Ash was vacuum veneered over the compound curved poplar deck. The cockpit combing is coopered and sculpted California Walnut Burl. The segmented edge is California walnut and hard maple. Ocelot won a first place award at the "2008 Design in Wood" contest in San Diego, California. Images © by Robert Manning.

Guitars
Created by Neil Van Zile, Jr. (Westmoreland, New Hampshire)
Veneer: Curly Maple
Comments: Pictures 1 and 2 show a guitar that started off as an old Teisco Japanese copy of the Gibson ES-335. I used flamed maple, your Dark Vintage Maple dye to bring out the flame, and Heat-Lock glue to do the veneering. Thankfully it sounds as good as it looks. Picture 3 shows a telecaster-style guitar I build using an ash body with flamed maple veneer on the face. Again I used the Dark Vintage Maple Transtint dye to bring out the flame and finished it with a cherry sunburst. I call it the "T Bucket".

Harp
Created by Larry Fisher (Winnipeg, Manitoba)
Veneer: Quilted Maple
Comments: Here's a picture of a harp that I recently finished that went to a customer in Ireland. Quilted maple veneer was used in the construction of the round back harp body. The hardwoods I used on this harp were western quilted maple and Indonesian rosewood. The soundboard is western red cedar.

Snare Drum
Created by Kevin Smee
Veneer: Quilted Maple
Comments: I was a little apprehensive with my first veneering project (a snare drum shell) and couldn't have been happier with your products. I bought a quilted maple veneer and used the Heat Lock adhesive to attach it. I was a little skeptical to try a product that you use a clothing iron to activate, but boy did it work well. I couldn't justify a vacuum press and the Heat Lock adhesive bonded really well. The snare drum is done now and has gotten rave reviews on two drumming forums for it's wild quilted maple figure.

Stereo Speaker Restoration
Created by J.P. Thal-Larsen
Veneer: Paperbacked Cherry
Comments: When I got these vintage JBL tower speakers, I could tell that they had the potential of being very capable speakers. I went with the paper backed veneer with the PSA, and opted for cherry to match our décor. This being my first veneer job, it went incredibly well. The PSA veneer is extremely easy to work with. The extra cost of the PSA was well worth the ease of installation, in my opinion. I aged the cherry with a lye/water solution (1 tbsp lye to 16 oz. of water) and a wipe-over with clean water to even things out. It immediately had the desired effect. I followed up with 3 coats of Watco Danish Oil.

Head Board & Foot Board
Created by Scott Presson
Veneer: Koa, Etimoe
Comments: Here’s how I have put some of that curly koa and etimoe (backer) to use.  Had I known how beautiful the etimoe was going to come out, I would have made the headboard and footboard “reversable.” Now it’s time to get started on the matching nightstands, dresser and lamps.

Comments: The frames are hard maple tinted with Transtint Dark Vintage Maple at 24:1 in alcohol. The quilted maple is tinted at 60:1. The finish is Sherwin Williams Water White Conversion Varnish. Needless to say, we are very happy with the results.

Hi Fi Stereo Speakers
Created by Jack Gifford
Veneer: Paperbacked Rosewood
Comments: It was obvious to me that rosewood was an excellent choice. Both cabinets got ... Watco danish oil. I let it soak in the oil till it was almost hard to spread the residue anymore. Then it dried overnight. The next day, the small amount of varnish in the Watco left a somewhat shiny finish, but was subdued with an application of elbow grease using 0000 steel wool.
