Every now and then, a bird's eye maple log comes into the mill that has a stunning figure but doesn't have a uniform color. Instead of wasting the log, the mill slices the veneer and sends it out to a facility to be bleached to even-out the color. The veneers are then dyed to bring out a deep shimmer from the figure. I managed to get a nice selection of this gorgeous brown dyed maple veneer at a very good price. Take a look at this picture to see it with a finish.
